A Guide to Dancing in the Area

One of my favorite ways to move, is dancing. It's social, it's connective, and it's so much fun you don't even realize what a great workout you're getting! Want to know where you can cut a rug in the area? Here are a few places to get you started:

Line Dancing for Seniors 50+ | Every Tuesday at 10:00am you'll find line dancing offered at the Bedford County Gym on Turning Point Road. Volunteer instructors demonstrate each dance before they begin. For more information, or to register (it's free, but also just for Bedford County residents!) call: 540-586-7682.

Ballroom Dancing for Seniors 50+ | Every Wednesday from 6-7pm at the Forest Recreation Center.  For more information call: 434-299-8208.

Modern Square Dancing | Every Wednesday from 7-9pm at the Forest Recreation Center and every Sunday from 1-3pm at the Bedford County Gym. All ages welcome! No charge, no experience, and no partner needed. If enough people are interested in the Smith Mountain Lake area, the caller would be happy to form a new local group close by. For more information call: 434-299-8208.

U Can Dance LLC | UCD offers a robust adult dance program for ages 20 to 80 including classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, fitness dance, clogging, line dance, modern, and contemporary.
