Christmas Field Trip | The Hotel Roanoke

The stunning Hotel Roanoke is dressed to the nines during this most festive time of year. I've always had a soft spot for the stunning Tudor-style landmark of the Star City which originally opened in 1882. During the early '90s I worked in downtown Roanoke and had a front row seat for the heartwarming campaign that raised funds to renovate the iconic structure that had fallen into disrepair and then watch her lovingly brought back to her former glory.

The holiday season is pure magic at the hotel. We have so many fond memories of the Grand Christmas Brunch (served on Sundays from 11:30-2 - be sure and make reservations early), Christmas Eve dancing in the Regency Room, spending Christmas Eve/Day as a guest in the hotel one year just for fun, grabbing a festive drink with friends at the nostalgic 1882 bar before perusing the Festival of Trees, sitting by the fireplace and enjoying the rich people watching scene…

As I'm sure you can tell, the Hotel Roanoke is one of my favorite places to find holiday spirit by the bucketload. It's definitely worth the drive over the mountain to make some sweet Christmas memories and maybe even start some new traditions of your own!
