Lake Quilters Guild

The Lake Quilters Guild is gearing up for their biennial show, and this year boasts some exciting changes! It will be held at Eastlake Church and is open to the public on June 7th from 10am-5pm and June 8th from 10am-4pm. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Besides the date and venue change (which allows for 120 quilts to be on display and an easier flow for visitors), the guild will also be debuting a boutique shop featuring handcrafted goods made by their membership.

Quilting is no longer simply a craft resulting in colorful bedcoverings. It is an ever-evolving art form - and one that attracts all ages. Whether it's bold, modern designs or the tradition of fiber art quilting that catches your eye, the LQG has a place for you in their creative community. There is a wealth of experience in the group, now 70+ strong, and longtime members love sharing their knowledge with newcomers.

On every third Tuesday, all regular guild meetings include a presentation - most focusing on continued education. Additionally, smaller groups called “Bees” gather monthly for hands-on sewing time and to work on special group projects together. The guild recently became a 501c3 organization to better support their efforts in partnering with a variety of local charitable organizations. Through these they provide items such as quilts for veterans, accessory bags for those needing the assistance of walkers and wheelchairs, and special fabric hearts designed for new parents with babies in the NICU.

You'll also find the Lake Quilters offering community outreach classes at the Moneta/SML Library which are open to the public. It's the perfect opportunity to sharpen a skill, or perhaps dip your toe into the world of quilting for the very first time! If you'd like more information, you can call:
