The Lakeside Singers

One of the outreach arts activities sponsored by the Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC) is The Lakeside Singers. This group is a large mixed chorus made up of local music lovers who perform both popular and traditional songs in four-part harmony. But the LS are more than just a concert choir…singing is a wonderfully fun and relaxing outlet for all involved!

Our season begins March 7, 2023, at Trinity Ecumenical Parish with an organizational meeting to sign up and collect music at 6:30pm. New voices are welcome! Rehearsals continue each Tuesday night at 6:30pm for 14 weeks. This culminates in a delightful show held at Trinity on June 2nd and 3rd. Tickets will be for sale beginning in early May on the SMAC website or from any Lakeside Singer.

This year, we are welcoming (back) Velshera Johnson as the Director and Susan Spataro as the piano accompanist. Velshera and Susan make a great team and were affiliated with the singers about 7 years ago. This year’s Country-Western Honky-Tonk themed program is sure to be entertaining!
